The Club was formed in October 2002 with just four players, all total novices. Since then the numbers have grown to around 25 with a mix of local recruits and others from further afield such as Bedford. There are a number of experienced players in the squad as well as plenty of raw talent

The Beds FA rewarded Sharnbrook WFC with the accolade "Chartered Standard Club of the Year" for the 2004/5 Season, an award that includes both male and female clubs of all levels in Bedfordshire. This recognised the way that SWFC has been organised and run in a professional yet friendly manner right from its conception in October 2002.
